From hiking, to spending the day indoors, there are many ways you can spend some quality time with your partner without breaking the bank or spending a pretty penny!

If you and your partner are a fan of the outdoors, why not get some endorphins going with a nature hike! Hikes are a great way to stay active and spend a day with your partner. Depending on where you live hikes can range from free to a couple of dollars and vary from an hour to 12 hours.

It is possible to keep your costs super low, pack a few sandwiches and some water and you’re all set. If you’re looking for a cheap way to spend a day, a hike is the perfect outing for you.

Picnic With A Twist – $15-35

When you think of a picnic, it’s easy to picture the lavish ones we see on TV. These picnics are often set in some extravagant location on an Egyptian cotton blanket with bottles of Moet and caviar. Truth is, you can have a picnic on a budget and have it be just as enjoyable!

Choose your local park or beach, your softest coziest blanket and you’re good to go! A cute twist to this date would be to pack each other’s lunches! Choose a budget and make each other their favorite lunch and have it be a surprise. These lunches can be as cheap as you want to make them and add a personal touch to this romantic date.

Coffee and People Watching – $2-5

Are you a couple of people watchers? Sometimes there is something peaceful and relaxing about setting up at a coffee shop, sipping a coffee and enjoying your atmosphere. This date can be as cheap as you want to make it, depending on what beverage you like. So sit back, enjoy your partner’s company and people watch!

Back to the 80’s With Some Op shop Skates – $10-20

If you’re looking for a fun and different activity without breaking the bank, try looking into op shops/thrift stores around your area. Often you will find some rollerblades or rollerskates for a pretty penny and skating can really make for a fun and cheap date! Rollerskating/rollerblading is a fantastic way to get some physical activity while having a blast at the same time. It is also a great way to bond with your partner, especially if you’re learning to skate together!

Netflix and Chillout – $10+

Whether you’re an introverted couple who enjoy spending time indoors, or simply had a busy week, sometimes the best dates can be at home on your couch! Netflix accounts are accessible to almost everyone these days for a small cost and make the perfect cheap date for those who want to relax.

You could go the romantic route with some tea candles, cheap wine and pop on a romantic comedy. If you’re the casual type, you could go to the dollar store and buy some candy and get the horror movies going! Whatever your personality, sometimes having a bonding day at home can be just what you and your partner need.

Homemade Pizza Night – $15-20

Following on from the Netflix date night, pizza night can be done in addition or as a separate idea all together! Pizza ingredients can be very cheap and making them can be pretty fun! Grab some cheap wine, throw on some tunes and make some delicious pizza with your partner. A way to spice it up and have a bit of fun with it is to make each other’s pizza. Just make sure that you’re using ingredients they like because nothing ruins a pizza more than if you put pineapple on when they hate it!

Beach Days – Free-$5

Now the next date idea is definitely climate and location dependent. If you are one of the lucky ones who live near beach and the temperature allows it, why not spend a day at the beach with your partner! Take a blanket, some sandwiches, bottled water and a good book. It’s the perfect cheap date for the beach bum couple that loves the ocean!

Whether you’re saving for something in particularly, or want to adjust your lifestyle to live more simply, you don’t need to say goodbye to beloved date nights. From adventurous dates, to relaxing indoors, there are so many ways to enjoy your partners company while saving money at the same time.
